From a One-Day-Old Adoption to a Disabled Veteran’s Farm of Hope: Ivan Nathan Kindell Proves There Is No Failure in God

Township, MI – June 1, 2026 – A new memoir arrives not from a celebrity ghostwriter or a polished publishing house. It arrives from the heart of Detroit. From the pews of a shouting Baptist church. From the memory of an electric cord waking a boy at 1:30 AM to wash dishes. Ivan Nathan Kindell, a 100% disabled veteran and adopted son of the Motor City, releases his raw testimony titled “NO Failure In GOD!” The book does not ask for sympathy. It demands witness.

Kindell entered the world in St. Louis and moved to Detroit at one day old. His great aunt and uncle, Faye and Isaac Kindell, raised him on the west side of Detroit during an era of Motown magic, urban riots, and powerful Black churches. He watched his cousin Dennis Edwards perform with The Temptations. He walked streets where Aretha Franklin’s church and Malcolm X’s pulpit stood blocks apart. He learned two things early: burn baby burn and Black Power. Then he learned a third: hustle or lose.

The core message of this book strikes like a gospel chord. There is no failure in God. Not in adoption. Not in poverty. Not in a mother who made you wash every dish in the house at gunpoint. Not in a 100% disability rating from military service. Kindell argues that every setback carries a seed of purpose. He wants readers to understand that God never loses a single battle. The major target audience includes adopted individuals, veterans struggling with disability or homelessness, Detroit natives and historians, Black church communities, and anyone who needs to rebuild hope from broken pieces.

Kindell writes the way a Detroit factory worker talks to you on a lunch break. He uses raw, unfiltered, and rhythmic language. His sentences jump from a childhood joke about his workaholic dad to a heavenly vision of Sister Hallie Richardson setting a keyboard on fire. He repeats phrases like a preacher building a sermon. He does not edit his pain into polite literature. He shouts it, whispers it, and leaves Vaseline on his neck as a sick day excuse. His writing style feels less like reading and more like sitting in a second row pew while someone testifies.

The author, Ivan Nathan Kindell, served as a truck driver for 25 years and trained drivers for their CDL air brakes license. He now sets up a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to build a Black-owned farm in Detroit. The farm will house homeless veterans, grow healthy produce, and train youth. He promises that nothing will go to waste. He lives by his mother Faye Kindell’s words: if God is with you, it is more than the world against you.

“NO Failure In GOD!” is available now on Amazon and at all online stores. You can also find it at major retailers. This is not a polished self-help book. It is a survival manual wrapped in gospel music and Detroit concrete. Read it. Then go find your purpose.

About Ivan Nathan Kindell

Ivan Nathan Kindell served our country and now lives as a 100% disabled veteran. But disability never stopped his drive. He spent 25 years as a truck driver and instructor, training others to earn their CDL air brakes license. A Detroit native adopted at one day old, he grew up off Linwood and West Boulevard during Motown’s golden age. His cousins include Temptations star Dennis Edwards and Detroit Pistons player Tony Fuller. Ivan now builds a nonprofit farm to house homeless veterans and train youth. His mother taught him the only truth that matters: there is no failure in God. He lives to give God all the glory.
