La Paz, Bolivia — Bolivian artist Bombz is steadily gaining recognition as an emerging voice within Latin America’s evolving music landscape. A rapper, drummer, producer, and songwriter, he has developed a multidisciplinary approach that blends contemporary urban influences with a strong musical foundation rooted in performance and composition.
Born Ernesto Luis Zapata Ramos, Bombz grew up surrounded by music as the son of Bolivian folklorist José Zapata. While his background is tied to traditional sounds, his artistic direction reflects a more modern and global perspective, combining rhythm-driven production with introspective and expressive lyricism.
Before launching his solo career, Bombz was the founder of the band Chorizó Caliente, where he served as drummer, producer, and composer. His work as a percussionist led him to represent Bolivia at the Red Bull Tum Tum Pa World Final in Rio de Janeiro, an international event focused on rhythmic performance and innovation.
His transition into a solo artist took shape in 2025 with the release of his debut album A-M-A-L-G-A-M-A, a project that showcased his versatility across genres and his ability to connect with audiences through personal narratives. Tracks such as “Sigo Improvisando” and “Enfermos de Amor” received recognition at the Home Music Awards, with “Sigo Improvisando” earning the award for Best Reggae Song.

The figures point to an expanding international reach driven largely through independent distribution and digital platforms.
Bombz is now preparing to release a new single in April. While details about the track have not yet been publicly disclosed, the release is expected to reflect a more mature stage in his artistic direction, both in production quality and lyrical depth.
His emergence comes at a time when independent artists across Latin America are increasingly accessing global audiences without the backing of major labels.
