Melbourne, Australia — Australian founder and inventor Sia Nasios, creator of Lippy Links, has been awarded “Makeup Accessories Product of the Year” by the Beauty Innovation Awards just 18 months after launching her now viral beauty solution on 24 July 2024.

A Small Frustration Sparked a Global Idea



Lippy Links began in 2019 during one of the most challenging periods of Sia’s life. While caring full-time for her seriously unwell parents her father has since passed from Alzheimer’s, she rarely took moments for herself. One day, she picked up a copy of Vogue Australia, which included a complimentary Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit. She loved it, bought more, and quickly discovered a problem: once removed from the box, there was nothing to keep the matching lipstick and lip liner together.

She tried rubber bands and hair ties, but they snapped, slipped, and looked messy. That small frustration, during a deeply emotional time, sparked the idea that would take five years to bring to life.

From Idea to Innovation

Before arriving at the final design, Sia worked with 2 designers, 36 manufacturers across 6 countries, and 6 box manufacturers. The result is Lippy Links, a smart, flexible silicone connector designed to keep matching lip products linked, organised, and ready to use.

A Breakthrough Moment on the Global Stage

Just months after launch, in December 2024, beauty mogul Huda Kattan (Huda Beauty) discovered Lippy Links. Her team reached out early, and although development took time, the official collaboration launched in May 2025, significantly expanding the brand’s global visibility.

Four Copycats… and a Viral Turning Point

Across 2025, four separate brands attempted to copy Lippy Links. Instead of discouraging her, Sia chose to openly address each incident. Her transparency resonated with beauty lovers globally, and the posts exposing the copies gained widespread attention.

This unexpected wave of visibility helped spotlight the original invention, driving rapid community growth, reinforcing brand loyalty, and pushing Lippy Links to viral status.

Growing Collections and Community

Since launch, Lippy Links has released three successful collections: the original Classic Pink, the Mocha Mousse 1-Year Anniversary shade inspired by the Pantone Colour of the Year, and the limited edition Merry & Bright 2025 holiday collection featuring the brand’s first-ever red ring with gold sparkle. These releases including seasonal multi-packs and lip mirrors have quickly become fan favourites, contributing to multiple sell-outs and a rapidly growing international community.
