Born and raised in Beijing, China, Zhang Chi’s artistic foundation was rooted in traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, and oil painting. This early immersion in the arts laid the groundwork for a future in storytelling. After pursuing a degree in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management at Columbia College Chicago, she transitioned to a career in film, beginning with a formative role at Legendary Entertainment. Her contributions to large-scale productions such as Dune, Enola Holmes, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Detective Pikachu laid a strong groundwork for her transition into producing.
Over time, Zhang Chi’s focus turned to vertical-format TV series—an emerging format resonating with younger audiences around the world. Her work as a producer on a wide range of titles, including My Mom’s Best Friend, The Chop, Anino, and 28 Days with the Alpha, has demonstrated a consistent ability to fuse creative vision with logistical precision.

Shot across four locations over the course of 12 intensive days, the project faced numerous challenges, from unpredictable weather in Fresno to on-the-spot script revisions. Despite the constraints of a limited crew and budget, the production delivered high-impact results through disciplined planning, collaborative leadership, and adaptive decision-making.
The series follows the emotionally layered journey of Evelyn, a resilient orphan navigating a dangerous supernatural world. Zhang Chi’s personal connection to the character shaped the tone of the series, anchoring fantasy elements in authentic emotional storytelling.
